CipherStash Stack – Data Level Access Control in TS/JS
Hi HN, I'm Dan Draper, founder of CipherStash. We've spent 5 years building per-value searchable encryption tech. We realized that encryption like this is incredibly powerful but the engineering required is generally not worth the effort. So we built a platform and opensource SDK to take the cry out of cryptography :) CipherStash Stack is: * A searchable encryption SDK for TS and Postgres * Fast, key management with Zerokms (backed by HSM) * A transparent SQL proxy * Auth library and OIDC federation service * Skills for data security Integrations include Prisma Next, Drizzle, Auth0, Clerk…
In plain words
CipherStash Stack is a searchable encryption platform for TypeScript and PostgreSQL that enables field-level data encryption without requiring deep cryptography expertise. It includes an SDK, transparent SQL proxy, key management via Zerokms, and authentication services with OIDC federation. The platform integrates with popular frameworks like Prisma, Next, and Drizzle, allowing developers to encrypt individual database fields in approximately 15 minutes with queries executing in milliseconds. It targets developers who need to protect sensitive data while maintaining searchability and query performance.

Install and setup is done via a single npx stash init command. And can handoff implementation to your agent. You can start by encrypting just a single field and we've got the whole process down to around 15 minutes. Oh and its fast: most queries run in a few ms with many faster than that. We published our full benchmarks here: https://github.com/cipherstash/benches#headline-numbers I'd love to know what you think!

Hey HN, Henry here from Cactus. We open-sourced Needle, a 26M parameter function-calling (tool use) model. It runs at 6000 tok/s prefill and 1200 tok/s decode on consumer devices. We were always frustrated by the little effort made towards building agentic models that run on budget phones, so we conducted investigations that led to an observation: agentic experiences are built upon tool calling, and massive models are overkill for it. Tool calling is fundamentally retrieval-and-assembly (match query to tool name, extract argument values, emit JSON), not reasoning. Cross-attention…
