Data Prism – Weekly newsletter about data science, ML, AI and analytics
DataPrism turns the clouds you already use into sovereign, provable, unreadable storage. Client-side encryption, one TypeScript SDK, invisible to your users.
Data Prism – Weekly newsletter about data science, ML, AI and analytics launched on December 26, 2017 with 233 votes, #85 of 2,482 launches that month and more than 95% of that year's launches. The site was still online in September 2026, 8 years on.
In plain words
Data Prism is a TypeScript SDK that adds client-side encryption to existing cloud storage services, allowing users to maintain data sovereignty without switching providers. Data remains stored in the user's chosen cloud service but becomes unreadable to providers and their employees through encryption keys the user controls. The tool integrates invisibly into applications, giving users proven control over who can access their stored data while keeping infrastructure unchanged.

We are opening a design partner program. See the program → Nowhere readable, and nowhere new: your data stays in the cloud services of your choice, but you take back sovereignty over it. Cloud storage as it exists today cannot establish who is able to read the data it holds. Providers encrypt files with keys they keep on their own side, and their systems decrypt on demand: for any employee with the right access, for any authority that compels it. The lock is real. It belongs to the operator, and so does the record of who opened it. The order does not have to come from the regulator that governs the data. A provider headquartered abroad answers to its own law wherever its servers sit,…from dataprism.co

Hi HN, I'm Barry and I've built Prism.Tools (https://blgardner.github.io/prism.tools/) – a collection of client-side developer utilities that respect your privacy. Many of these tools were used way back in the days when I ran a BBS and started my communities first ISP, serving three local communities with Dial-Up Internet, Web Hosting etc. The tools have been refined to reflect the changes in tech since then and designed for the Novice and Pro alike. As I locate more tools others may find useful I will refine and add them to the collection. Use them, Share them, or not.…

Parseable Log Storage2022 · parseable.com · ▲79Over the past few months, we've been building Prism; a fast, developer-first observability UI that's deeply integrated with our open-source database, Parseable. Prism is designed for engineers who debug distributed systems, sometimes at odd hours, and need answers right now, without having to deal with five different tools. Backstory: We spoke to dozens of observability practitioners in large enterprises. Across the board, we heard two things: (1)The RoI on observability tools is hard to justify. (2)OSS leads to tool sprawl, metrics in Grafana, logs in ELK, traces… somewhere. We wanted a…
