In plain words
Circuit Tracer is an open-source tool from Anthropic that helps researchers understand how large language models work by visualizing their internal computations as attribution graphs. Users can explore these visualizations on Neuronpedia or use the library directly. The tool is designed for AI researchers and developers seeking transparency into how LLMs make decisions and process information.

Anthropic is an AI safety and research company that's working to build reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems.
In our recent interpretability research, we introduced a new method to trace the thoughts of a large language model. Today, we’re open-sourcing the method so that anyone can build on our research. Our approach is to generate attribution graphs , which (partially) reveal the steps a model took internally to decide on a particular output. The open-source library we’re releasing supports the generation of attribution graphs on popular open-weights models—and a frontend hosted by Neuronpedia lets you explore the graphs interactively. This project was led by participants in our Anthropic Fellows program, in collaboration with Decode Research . To get started, you can visit the Neuronpedia…from anthropic.com

Claude Code and Claude 3.7 Sonnet 2025 · anthropic.com · ▲875Claude Opus 4.7 is Anthropic's most capable generally available model, released April 16, 2026. It outperforms Opus 4.6, GPT-5.4, and Gemini 3.1 Pro on key benchmarks including agentic coding, multidisciplinary reasoning, scaled tool use, and agentic computer use. It is benchmarked below Claude Mythos Preview — which remains restricted to Project Glasswing partners. https://vucense.com/ai-intelligence/ai-tools/claude-opus-4-7...

I built a web tool to see and edit what an AI thinks before it answersJul 2026 · lucid.earthpilot.ai · ▲34I run a small AI lab and playground and got super excited about Anthropics paper "Verbalizable Representations Form a Global Workspace in Language Models" (https://transformer-circuits.pub/2026/workspace/index.html) It talks about how they use a tool they call a Jacobian Lens to view inside the middle layers of LLM while it's working before it commits to a word (token). I wanted to see if I could get a version of this running on the open models and to my surprise it worked! I ran some experiments with it and build a public facing free tool anyone can use with your…

Hey HN! Pilots everywhere are required to keep a logbook of all their flying hours, aircraft, airports, and so on. Since I track everything digitally (some people still just use paper logbooks!), I put together some data visualizations and a few 3D globes to show my flying history. This globe is probably my favourite so far: https://jameshard.ing/pilot/globes/all If you’ve got ideas for other graphs or ways to show this kind of data, I’d love to hear them!

I was the main contributor to workout.lol, an open-source fitness app to easily build a workout routine. The project had traction (1.4k GitHub stars, 95 forks, ~20K visits/month), but was eventually sold due to video licensing hurdles. The new owner stopped maintaining it, and the repo went abandoned. Over the next 9 months, I sent 15 emails to try to save it : no replies. Feature requests & issues were ignored. The community was left with a "broken" tool let's say. I couldn't just let it die So I built the new version from scratch with the same open-source spirit, but a better…
