Citrus Search – Select a paper, explore related research
Citrus Search is a similarity-based search engine for scientific literature: select a paper, start the search and jump right to the heart of your research domain. Get an overview of important contributions from seminal papers to the state of the art. Searching for research with text queries can cumbersome: queries of just a couple of words are not a very high-fidelity signal, leading to lots of false positives in the search results. Also, you run the risk of missing papers which simply use different taxonomy than your query. This is where similarity-based search can be a great complement:…
What it does
In the maker’s words, at launch
Citrus Search is a similarity-based search engine for scientific literature: select a paper, start the search and jump right to the heart of your research domain. Get an overview of important contributions from seminal papers to the state of the art. Searching for research with text queries can cumbersome: queries of just a couple of words are not a very high-fidelity signal, leading to lots of false positives in the search results. Also, you run the risk of missing papers which simply use different taxonomy than your query. This is where similarity-based search can be a great complement: select a paper you already know, and we take you right to closely related research. Citrus offers two ways to discover related work: - Citation Network: Finds papers with similar connections in the citation graph - Content: Finds papers with similar ideas in their abstract and title Behind the scenes, the similarity of papers is computed using graph and text-based machine-learning algorithms. We'd love to hear your thoughts and feedback!

Hi HN, I built Eigendrum, a web tool that solves the 2D wave equation for arbitrary shapes so you can hear what they sound like as drums. How it works: * Solves -∇²u = λu using finite element analysis (Kφ = λMφ) on a triangle mesh. * Validated to <0.1% error against closed-form solutions for circles (Bessel zeros) and rectangles. * Sound model factors in strike location, Rayleigh damping, and mallet width. * Includes Kac drums I & II to demonstrate identical sound spectra from different geometries. * No frameworks, build steps, or dependencies. Repo and tests:…
