Claim a US state for $5, put a link

Claim a US state for $5. Anyone can outbid you at 1.3x

What it does

A live register of 51 US territories. Claim one, and your company holds the map until someone pays to take it.

Claim any of the 51 US states and DC for $5. Your logo goes on the map and stays there until someone pays 1.3x to take it from you. All 51 territories are live and open right now.

Fifty-one territories, held by whoever paid most. Click a company to visit it — that traffic is what they bought. Every state starts at $5. Pay it and your logo goes on the map, and it's yours until someone pays more. Pay 1.3x what the current holder paid, rounded up to the dollar. A state can change hands any number of times. It adds to what you've already staked, which raises the price anyone else needs to pay to take it from you. We email you right away with the exact price to take it back. Each visitor's click through to a state's holder counts once per state per day. Refreshing the page and clicking again doesn't add another click. Company sites and public profiles only. Hello HN! I found that picking out plausible but diverse skin tones for my digital art and game development projects was kind of difficult, and I got curious about if there was a way to define a color space that made it easy. I've built a color picker and procedural generation algorithm based on the space as well as a bunch of other fun js features and demos throughout the page that use the equations. If you find it interesting, I have lots of explanations of how I built it and what properties the space has. The methodology might be a bit shaky, but hopefully the result is as helpful for…

  • I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.
