Agentic coding for builders who ship

What it does
Claurst is an open-source, multi-provider terminal coding agent built from the ground up in Rust. It started as a clean-room reimplementation of Claude Code's behavior and has since evolved into the most optimized TUI pair programmer with a 4ms cold start time, multi-provider support, a rich UI, plugin system, a companion named Rustle, chat forking, memory consolidation, and much more. It's fast, it's memory-efficient, it's yours to run however you want, and there's no tracking or telemetry.

Keen CodeJun 2026 · mochow13.github.io · ▲125Hello community! I am here to share a coding agent I have built solo from scratch using agentic engineering. Written in Go, it's a proper coding agent, has features you expect from a useful agent for your daily work, with a minimal and simple UI. I have named it Keen Code. The repo is here: https://github.com/mochow13/keen-code Even though it started as an experiment, it is now a full-fledged coding agent for real software engineering work. It supports multiple providers, skills, MCPs, multi-agent orchestration through subagents, automatic compaction, etc. I have been…

Rocky and Caveman Speak in Claurst CLI Save Big Token Amaze Amaze AmazeApr 2026 · github.com · ▲5Hey HN! I've been building Claurst - a clean-room implementation of Claude Code in Rust, with extra features to make my ideal agentic Open-Source AI CLI. It's WIP and rough, but I'm shipping a lot to make it amaze amaze amaze. Inspired by this HN post [1] I saw a few hours ago about caveman speak for token-efficient output, I added /Caveman and /Rocky (from project Hail Mary) to Claurst. Caveman grammar drops ~70% of output tokens keeping technical substance and Rocky brings a close compression with more personality. Both are first-class slash commands with three levels: lite,…

Hey HN, Henry here from Cactus. We open-sourced Needle, a 26M parameter function-calling (tool use) model. It runs at 6000 tok/s prefill and 1200 tok/s decode on consumer devices. We were always frustrated by the little effort made towards building agentic models that run on budget phones, so we conducted investigations that led to an observation: agentic experiences are built upon tool calling, and massive models are overkill for it. Tool calling is fundamentally retrieval-and-assembly (match query to tool name, extract argument values, emit JSON), not reasoning. Cross-attention…
