Clavix

Know what you're exposed to, not just your portfolio value.

What it does

Clavix grades the risk in the portfolio you already own. Four measures, every trading day: asset quality, diversification, independence and stability. A plain-English brief lands before the open, covering overnight macro, your sectors and any position that changed grade. Tap any number and it opens to the inputs, the comparison and the date it was measured. Manual entry, no brokerage connection, no trading. Grades measure risk, not expected return. Free for up to 10 holdings, no card.

Clavix is an iPhone app that grades every stock you own from A+ to F across five risk dimensions, with all the math shown. Three months free on the App Store.

Clavix grades every stock you own from A+ to F and puts the whole portfolio on one screen, so you can see which positions are carrying the risk. Built for people who pick their own stocks. Your brokerage shows you price all day and never tells you which holding quietly got riskier. Add your tickers and Clavix scores each one overnight across five risk dimensions, so you wake up to the whole portfolio already graded. It never asks for a brokerage login or a password. Type in your tickers and share counts. No brokerage connection, no third-party access to your accounts. Every night, Clavix scores five independent risk dimensions across each position: financial health, news, macro resilience,…from getclavix.com

Hello HN! I found that picking out plausible but diverse skin tones for my digital art and game development projects was kind of difficult, and I got curious about if there was a way to define a color space that made it easy. I've built a color picker and procedural generation algorithm based on the space as well as a bunch of other fun js features and demos throughout the page that use the equations. If you find it interesting, I have lots of explanations of how I built it and what properties the space has. The methodology might be a bit shaky, but hopefully the result is as helpful for…

  • I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.
