Cloud Native Web Development – I self-published my first book

Hi, I spent the last three months writing a 200+ page book, with 19 corresponding pull requests. https://www.mikenikles.com/cloud-native-web-development It's a hands-on guidebook on how to develop a cloud-native web application based on technologies I am familiar with. Svelte, Tailwind CSS, Cypress.io, Gitpod.io, Firebase & Google Cloud at a high-level. The goal was to walk through the entire end-to-end process, from zero to production! What it does

In the maker’s words, at launch

Hi, I spent the last three months writing a 200+ page book, with 19 corresponding pull requests. https://www.mikenikles.com/cloud-native-web-development It's a hands-on guidebook on how to develop a cloud-native web application based on technologies I am familiar with. Svelte, Tailwind CSS, Cypress.io, Gitpod.io, Firebase & Google Cloud at a high-level. The goal was to walk through the entire end-to-end process, from zero to production! It walks through building a foundation needed to develop on top of. CI / CD, testing, feature toggles, production monitoring, etc. To write it, I used Google Docs and had two git repositories: one to experiment and one that contains the final source code - where the git commit history looks like I never struggled :-). AMA on self-publishing or the book's topic itself!

    Self-Published Book – “Data Science in Production”2020 · ▲172

Hi HN, Over the past 6 months I've been working on a technical book focused on helping aspiring data scientists to get hands-on experience with cloud computing environments using the Python ecosystem. To author the book, I used the Leanpub platform to provide drafts of the text as I completed each chapter. To typeset the book, I used the R bookdown package by Yihui Xie to translate my markdown into a PDF format. I also used Google docs…

Hello HN! I am Ashley, author of the book Serverless Apps on Cloudflare, and I'm excited to share it with you and hopefully spread the awareness of the powerful and developer-focussed platform that Cloudflare has built, that I believe is currently flying under the radar! For years, I've been building applications on Cloudflare - from websites, to APIs, to Discord bots and everything in-between. The platform has grown hugely in the past few years, to the point it has all the essential building blocks for modern applications. It's also built with engineers in mind, the developer experience…
