Cost of Me — Habit Cost Tracker

See what your everyday habits are really costing you

What it does

Cost of Me shows you what your everyday habits are really costing you. Log a coffee, takeaway, subscription or other regular spend in seconds and see what it becomes over a month, year or five years. Set challenges, track money you chose not to spend, and turn small changes into real savings goals. No bank connection required — just a simple way to make the true cost of your habits impossible to ignore.

A personal habit cost tracker. Log a coffee in two seconds and find out what it becomes over a year.

Coffee. Takeaway. Alcohol. Petrol. Energy drinks. Cost of Me turns small everyday purchases into the number you've never actually worked out. Five a week. That's the whole calculation. Here's where it lands. Save what you usually buy once. After that, logging is a single tap — and the totals move while your finger is still on the screen. Nothing to set up, nothing to balance, no categories you'll never use. Manual on purpose. Typing it in is what makes you notice it. Every habit gets a twelve-month number based on how you've actually been behaving — not one unusual Friday multiplied by 365. Drag a slider, watch the year change. One fewer takeaway each week is worth about $1,248 a year —…from costofme.com.au

Hello HN! I found that picking out plausible but diverse skin tones for my digital art and game development projects was kind of difficult, and I got curious about if there was a way to define a color space that made it easy. I've built a color picker and procedural generation algorithm based on the space as well as a bunch of other fun js features and demos throughout the page that use the equations. If you find it interesting, I have lots of explanations of how I built it and what properties the space has. The methodology might be a bit shaky, but hopefully the result is as helpful for…

  • I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.
