Cronhooks 2.0 launched on March 21, 2022 with 83 votes, #476 of 3,153 launches that month and more than 75% of that year's launches. The site was still online in September 2026, 4 years on.
In plain words
Cronhooks lets users schedule webhooks to fire at specific times, either once or on a recurring basis. It's designed for developers who need to trigger events or automate tasks at scheduled intervals without building their own scheduling infrastructure. The service handles the timing and delivery of HTTP requests according to a defined schedule, simplifying webhook automation for technical users.

Scheduling is hard specially when multiple timezones are involved. Cronhooks enables you to invoke your webhooks at any given date time or repeatedly using cron expressions in any timezone and get instant alerts for failures.
Schedule a one-time call or a recurring one with a cron expression. Cronhooks holds it, fires it in the timezone you set, and tells you the moment something goes wrong. Illustration of a timeline: one-time and recurring webhook requests approach the present moment from the right, fire — mostly succeeding, occasionally failing — and pass by on the left. Every schedule, its next run, and whether it's active — one screen, no digging through logs. No queues to run, no cron daemon to babysit. Point Cronhooks at an endpoint and tell it when. Set a date and time and your webhook fires there, down to the minute — no polling loop, no drift. Describe the interval once — hourly, weekdays at 9am, every…from cronhooks.io

Talanoa▲346Hi HN, I’m a fullstack developer, and honestly, I’ve lost count of how many side projects I’ve worked on over the years. But one idea kept coming back to me: a different kind of email client. It first came to me in 2014: “What if we could handle emails more like conversations?” Every year, I’d revisit this concept in my “Build Notes.” Ten years later, no one had built exactly what I had in mind — so I finally decided to do it myself. That’s how Talanoa was born. I wanted something focused on people, not timelines. I was tired of marking messages as unread just to remember to reply later, or…

Hi HN! I made many small web games in the past with Unity or Phaser. But this time I wanted to make something completely on my own. So I coded a basic game framework in plain JavaScript, and used it to make Almost Pong. This was a really fun project that taught me a lot about JavaScript, and I plan to make more minimalist games with this framework. Interesting fact: Almost Pong doesn't load any assets, all sprites and sounds are generated with code. Happy to answer questions, and please let me know if you have any feedback on the game. Thanks!
