Cronhq
Cron jobs that actually run
Cronhq launched on September 20, 2026 with 94 votes, #307 of 8,097 launches that month and more than 95% of that year's launches.
In plain words
Cronhq is a distributed scheduler that guarantees exactly-once job execution using Postgres locks, solving the common problem of cron jobs running multiple times or failing silently. It offers automatic retries with backoff, HMAC-signed webhooks, heartbeat monitoring, and alerts on failure and recovery. Built in Rust on Postgres and available as a self-hostable open-source version or managed SaaS, it targets developers who need reliable scheduled task execution. The free tier supports up to five jobs.

From the sources
Cron jobs fail in silence. Two servers run the same crontab and your billing job fires twice. A job dies and nobody notices for weeks. Cronhq is a scheduler built around one guarantee: exactly-once execution, enforced by Postgres locks — not best-effort. Around it: retries with backoff, HMAC-signed webhooks, heartbeat monitors for jobs we don't run, and alerts that fire once on failure and once on recovery. Rust on Postgres. MIT-licensed, self-hostable, same image we run. Free tier: 5 jobs.
Reliable distributed cron in 60 seconds. Exactly-once execution across workers, automatic retries, alerts on failure and recovery. Built in Rust on Postgres.
Point Cronhq at a webhook. We fire it on schedule, retry on failure, and page you when something breaks — and again the moment it recovers. Every request carries an X-Cronhq-Signature header — HMAC-SHA256 over timestamp.body — plus an X-Cronhq-Timestamp. Each job gets its own secret. Rotate it anytime, no downtime. Ping a URL on every run. Miss the window — period plus grace — and we flip the monitor DOWN and page you once. It's cron's inverse: proof of absence, not presence. npx cronhq sync reconciles a cronhq.yaml in your repo — creates, updates, prunes. npx cronhq tail live-streams executions straight to your terminal. Hit ⌘K anywhere in the dashboard for the command palette. Type "every…from cronhq.xyz

Crontab Guru2022 · crontab.guru · ▲66We’re the makers of Crontab.guru and Cronitor.io, both first launched on HN about a decade ago. We wanted a secure web GUI way to manage/run our own cron jobs — so we built it and open‑sourced it! With Crontab Guru Dashboard you can: * Create, update, suspend and delete your cron jobs easily * Start a job on-demand or kill running instances that are hanging around too long * Debug jobs with a local console * Use our MCP server to integrate with coding assistants like Cursor and Claude Code to configure jobs and check health/status Feedback welcome!

Talanoa▲337Hi HN, I’m a fullstack developer, and honestly, I’ve lost count of how many side projects I’ve worked on over the years. But one idea kept coming back to me: a different kind of email client. It first came to me in 2014: “What if we could handle emails more like conversations?” Every year, I’d revisit this concept in my “Build Notes.” Ten years later, no one had built exactly what I had in mind — so I finally decided to do it myself. That’s how Talanoa was born. I wanted something focused on people, not timelines. I was tired of marking messages as unread just to remember to reply later, or…
