Crontab Guru

We’re the makers of Crontab.guru and Cronitor.io, both first launched on HN about a decade ago. We wanted a secure web GUI way to manage/run our own cron jobs — so we built it and open‑sourced it! With Crontab Guru Dashboard you can: * Create, update, suspend and delete your cron jobs easily * Start a job on-demand or kill running instances that are hanging around too long * Debug jobs with a local console * Use our MCP server to integrate with coding assistants like Cursor and Claude Code to configure jobs and check health/status Feedback welcome!

Crontab Guru launched on February 9, 2022 with 66 votes, #801 of 2,645 launches that month and more than 50% of that year's launches. The site was still online in September 2026, 4 years on.

In plain words

Crontab Guru Dashboard is a free, self-hosted, open-source control panel for managing cron jobs through a web interface. It lets users create, update, suspend, and delete scheduled tasks, run jobs on-demand, and debug issues through a local console. The tool integrates with coding assistants like Cursor and Claude to configure jobs and check their status. It's designed for developers and non-technical users who want a secure graphical way to manage cron jobs without exposing them to the public internet.

During the installation process, telemetry is collected to help us anonymously count installs and detect issues with the installation process itself. These are GET requests that do not send any details about your server. This script will download and install the latest version of CronitorCLI, which includes the dashboard functionality. After installation, you'll be prompted to set a username and password for dashboard access. You can't use the dashboard without setting a username and password. Security Warning: The dashboard should not be exposed directly to the public internet. Always use secure access methods. Hi HN, I’m a fullstack developer, and honestly, I’ve lost count of how many side projects I’ve worked on over the years. But one idea kept coming back to me: a different kind of email client. It first came to me in 2014: “What if we could handle emails more like conversations?” Every year, I’d revisit this concept in my “Build Notes.” Ten years later, no one had built exactly what I had in mind — so I finally decided to do it myself. That’s how Talanoa was born. I wanted something focused on people, not timelines. I was tired of marking messages as unread just to remember to reply later, or…
