CyberTrackerAU
Track every Australian cyber attack in real time
What it does
Australia has no single, freely accessible, up-to-date public tracker of cyber incidents. News articles are scattered. Government reports are buried in PDFs. We built CyberTrackerAU to fix that. 400+ incidents tracked from 2018 to today — data breaches, ransomware, DDoS attacks, and phishing campaigns across every Australian sector. Filter by year, attack type, and industry. Updated regularly from verified sources including ACSC advisories, company disclosures, and press reports.

Hi HN, we are building Tracecat (https://tracecat.com/), an open source automation platform for security alerts. Tracecat automates the tasks a security analyst has to do when responding to a security alert: e.g. contact victims, investigate security logs, report vulnerability. The average security analyst deals with 100 alerts per day. As soon as an alert comes in, you have to investigate and respond. An average alert takes ~30 minutes to analyze (and 100 x 30 min = 50 hours > one whole day) Lots of things get dropped, and this creates vulnerabilities. Many breaches can be…

Hey HN, I built an automated system that tracks malicious Chrome/Edge extensions daily. The database updates automatically by monitoring chrome-stats for removed extensions and scanning security blogs. Currently tracking 1000+ known malicious extensions with extension IDs, names, and dates. I'm working on detection tools (GUI + CLI) to scan locally installed extensions against this database, but wanted to share the raw data first since maintained threat intelligence lists like this are hard to find. The automation runs 24/7 and pushes updates to GitHub. Free to use for research,…

Today, I’m proud to announce Homebrew 6.0.0. The most significant changes since 5.1.0 are a new tap trust security mechanism, the new faster, smaller, default internal Homebrew JSON API, sandboxing on Linux, better defaults informed by our user survey, many brew bundle improvements, improved performance and initial support for macOS 27 (Golden Gate). Happy to discuss any questions here!
