Data Calculator

Estimate how much mobile data for a trip across Europe

Data Calculator launched on August 21, 2026.

What it does

Work out exactly how many GB you need for your trip across Europe in 30 seconds. France, Germany, Spain, Italy and 39+ destinations. Free, based on real traveller usage.

Most travellers massively over-buy. Answer five quick questions: or punch in your real phone usage: and get a GB figure built on what people actually burn through across Europe. At home you lean on WiFi all day. Travelling, you're out and about far more: we scale your usage up to match, then adjust for the destination's network reality. Typical GB for popular Europe trips, moderate use, accommodation with WiFi for evening streaming. Your number above is personalised; this is the back-of-envelope version. Where your data really goes, per hour of active use onfrom drifteuropa.com

We ingest video, audio, image; normalize formats via ffmpeg; run content analysis to…

  • Hello HN! I found that picking out plausible but diverse skin tones for my digital art and game development projects was kind of difficult, and I got curious about if there was a way to define a color space that made it easy. I've built a color picker and procedural generation algorithm based on the space as well as a bunch of other fun js features and demos throughout the page that use the equations. If you find it interesting, I have lots of explanations of how I built it and what properties the space has. The methodology might be a bit shaky, but hopefully the result is as helpful for…
