23 free browser-based dev tools. Nothing leaves your browser
What it does
SAM Toolkit is a collection of 23 free developer tools — JSON formatters, converters, encoders, and more — that run 100% in your browser. No file uploads, no server processing, no data collection. Everything happens client-side, so your code and data never leave your machine. Built with Blazor for a fast, snappy experience without the usual "paste your sensitive data into a random website" anxiety. Would love your feedback — what tools would you want added next?
29 free browser-based developer tools — JWT, regex, cron, timestamp converters, CSS generators, security checkers, and content generators. No sign-up required.
29 small, focused utilities across 7 categories — converters, debuggers, generators, and reference tools. Runs in your browser, no sign-up. Turn a curl command into fetch, Python, or other client code. Compare a time across zones on a visual hour grid, and convert epoch / ISO 8601 / RFC 2822 timestamps. Convert text between camelCase, snake_case, kebab-case, and more. Escape JSON into a string literal, or unescape it back — runs entirely in your browser. Convert an escaped string back into valid, readable JSON instantly. Free, runs entirely in your browser — nothing is uploaded. Strip whitespace, comments, and unnecessary characters from JavaScript, CSS, or JSON. Test a regex…from samtoolkit.com

Hello HN! I found that picking out plausible but diverse skin tones for my digital art and game development projects was kind of difficult, and I got curious about if there was a way to define a color space that made it easy. I've built a color picker and procedural generation algorithm based on the space as well as a bunch of other fun js features and demos throughout the page that use the equations. If you find it interesting, I have lots of explanations of how I built it and what properties the space has. The methodology might be a bit shaky, but hopefully the result is as helpful for…

I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.
