DiskFreeVault
Move Mac apps to external storage. Keep launching as usual.
What it does
Move DiskFreeVault is a macOS utility for reclaiming space on fixed internal SSDs. Move selected apps and related data to external storage while keeping the familiar launch workflow. Unlike a simple cleaner or Finder drag, it shows a dry-run plan, checks compatibility and destination safety, verifies each move, and records restore and recovery information. Start with one app for free, then unlock batch moves, restore, diagnostics, and recovery with Trial or Pro.
Move macOS apps to external storage with dry-run planning, safety checks, and verification.
DiskFreeVault makes external storage a practical second home for the apps consuming your internal disk. 01 / SELECT Choose the apps taking the space. Start with the biggest applications on the internal SSD. Nothing moves until you choose it. 02 / PREFLIGHT Check everything before the copy. Capacity, permissions, running processes, target volume, and compatibility are checked first. 03 / VERIFY Release space only after proof. DiskFreeVault copies and verifies the app before it commits the move and releases internal capacity. 04 / LAUNCH Open it the way you always do. The app lives on the external SSD but still opens through Dock, Spotlight, or Finder. THE PAYOFF / 03 Launch as usual. Work as…from diskfreevault.com

Hello HN! I found that picking out plausible but diverse skin tones for my digital art and game development projects was kind of difficult, and I got curious about if there was a way to define a color space that made it easy. I've built a color picker and procedural generation algorithm based on the space as well as a bunch of other fun js features and demos throughout the page that use the equations. If you find it interesting, I have lots of explanations of how I built it and what properties the space has. The methodology might be a bit shaky, but hopefully the result is as helpful for…

I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.
