Domian.io – Find similar and misspelled domains to safeguard your brand
After having misspelled a domain and landed on a squatter’s site many times, I spent some time this year building domian.io to prevent this from happening again. It gives you a list of the most likely misspellings of a domain, their availability, and an easy way to register them - all in one simple tool. I built this with SvelteKit, Supabase, OpenAI, Resend, and Stripe using TypeScript and hosted it on Vercel. It was a really fun project and took some tinkering to get everything working together. Check it out and let me know what you think! PS. you can also access it through…

What it does
Strengthen your brand
Have you ever mistyped a website address? You’re not alone. Visitors may not know the correct spelling of a domain, make typing errors, or even confuse one word with another. This seemingly innocent mistake can lead to a world of trouble. Malicious actors exploit these misspellings through “typosquatting”, registering variations of well-known domain names. They might mimic a brand’s website to phish for personal details, damage a brand’s image, divert visitors to competitors, or even install harmful software on unsuspecting users’ devices. They can even try to ransom these domains back to the rightful owners at inflated prices. It’s not just about owning your brand’s domain anymore. It’s…from domian.io

DotComBuddy – Generate and check domains with AI in one go2025 · dotcombuddy.com · ▲8I tend to use AI to brainstorm domain names, but I kept wasting time pasting each idea into Namecheap to see if they were available. So I built DotComBuddy - it generates ideas (using DeepSeek V3 - switched from GPT-4o after realizing quality was just as good) and checks availability in real time via Name.com’s API. Built with Next.js and Vercel’s AI SDK, the app gives you a table of available domains with their price. 10 free searches to try it out, then $9/year (what I’d pay to never do this manually again). Sharing this for anyone else tired of switching tabs to check domains. Happy…

Hi HN! I’m proud to share that we have built a real 3rd party iMessage client for Android. We did it by reverse engineering the iMessage protocol and encryption system. It's available to download today (no waitlist): https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.beeper.ima and there's a technical writeup here: https://blog.beeper.com/p/how-beeper-mini-works. Unlike every other attempt to build an iMessage app for Android (including our first gen app), Beeper Mini does not use a Mac server relay in the cloud. The app connects directly to Apple…

Hey! I made Heynote entirely for my own use case. For many years, I always had an Emacs instance running with the scratch buffer open, even long after I had abandoned Emacs as my programming editor in favor of more recent IDE:s. The simplicity of having just one big scratch buffer appeals to me, but I still want to separate the different things I jot down somehow (without using tabs or similar). Previously, my solution was to insert a bunch of blank lines between the notes, but hitting C-A would still select the entire buffer. That's why I came up with the concept of "blocks", which turned…
