Products that do what Domian.io – Find similar and misspelled domains to safeguard your brand does
After having misspelled a domain and landed on a squatter’s site many times, I spent some time this year building domian.io to prevent this from happening again. It gives you a list of the most likely misspellings of a domain, their availability, and an easy way to register them - all in one simple tool. I built this with SvelteKit, Supabase, OpenAI, Resend, and Stripe using TypeScript and hosted it on Vercel. It was a really fun project and took some tinkering to get everything working together. Check it out and let me know what you think! PS. you can also access it through…

I tend to use AI to brainstorm domain names, but I kept wasting time pasting each idea into Namecheap to see if they were available. So I built DotComBuddy - it generates ideas (using DeepSeek V3 - switched from GPT-4o after realizing quality was just as good) and checks availability in real time via Name.com’s API. Built with Next.js and Vercel’s AI SDK, the app gives you a table of available domains with their price. 10 free searches to try it out, then $9/year (what I’d pay to never do this manually again). Sharing this for anyone else tired of switching tabs to check domains. Happy…

I often see question like "I'm with XXX registrar but want to change, which do you recommend?". People often offer helpful anecdotes so I thought I'd create a centralised place for them. Please check it out and contribute, if you have any experience with domain registrations!

We have finally launched Domfetch! Domfetch is a free platform to find expired domains. Users can search through domains that are (almost) available for registration. We enrich these domains with extra data to help users find valuable domains. We created this tool because we found the (free) alternatives lacking certain data, such as Moz, Alexa history (we check 5 years of data) & search volume history over a period of 1 year. Let us know what you think! More features and tld's will be added in the near future.

Someone is selling a list of available three, four, and five letter .io domains that are available for $20. This - https://gist.github.com/4111298 - generates a list of available .io domains of any length (user specified). And, its free. (I'm away from my computer, so it isn't tested, but I ran it in repl.it). Edit - this is the seller - http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=4804627

Every now and then I see these posts where people post the domains they purchased for XYZ side project that is clearly not happening. But considering how difficult it can be to find a good name, its always nice to see what people are willing to part with. Post your domains!

Hello HN! I've been working on http://underthesite.com for the last month and now think it is ready for some full strength HN feedback. What do you guys think? It crawls up to 10 pages of a given site while you wait, looking for community-provided CSS / XPath selectors and regular expressions. Additionally, I'd like to appeal to you to submit matchers for technologies that you care about. Technologies are easy to add, so add your favorite jQuery plugins, analytics tools, client-side node.js wrappers, what have you. I'm going to be running a large crawl in the next few days and want to make…

Problem: I (accidentally) hoard domains :') 1. I get excited about a new project 2. I buy a domain 3. I get busy, and the domain collects a thick layer of dust I know I'm not alone in this, either So, I had the idea of creating a simple and casual marketplace for folks like me to list their domains at a fair price with a nice community feel to free up these caged domains It felt like a great project for me to pick up some new skills, so I got to it All up, it took me about a month, and I built the whole thing live on Twitch I've always sat on the design, marketing and front-end side of the…
