Donut Browser
Hi HN, I'm excited to share my open source project, a browser orchestrator. It's purpose is to make it easy to manage many browser profiles on one system. Currently it only works on MacOS, but since I've built it using Tauri (which is a Rust backend and TypeScript frontend), I expect to add Linux and Windows support in the future. I've built it primarily for myself as I use a lot of browsers and having an easy way to manage all of my profiles would make (have made, actually) my dock less cluttered haha. Also, part of why I built it is because as someone who doesn't really care about…

In plain words
Donut Browser is an open-source tool for managing multiple browser profiles on a single system, reducing clutter and simplifying organization. Built with a Rust backend and TypeScript frontend using Tauri, it currently supports macOS with plans for Linux and Windows expansion. Designed for users who work with many browsers, it offers profile management without anti-detect features, positioning itself as a free alternative to costly commercial solutions.

Open source anti-detect browser. Create unlimited local profiles with unique fingerprints, proxy support, and full browser automation.
Donut Browser is a free, open-source anti-detect browser for macOS, Windows and Linux: unlimited local profiles, own fingerprints, own proxies.
Your account has been deleted. Sorry to see you go; you're welcome back anytime. Example: an agent launches eight seller accounts, each in its own browser profile with a different device fingerprint, time zone and proxy exit. Every isolated profile runs locally, with its own fingerprint, storage, and network. Pro adds browser-automation APIs, MCP tooling, and end-to-end encrypted cloud backup for teams and operators who run at scale. Canvas, WebGL, audio, fonts, timezone: every signal stays consistent within a profile and distinct between them. Powered by Wayfern (Chromium). Pick which profile each link opens in. Calendar invites, dashboards, ad platforms: routed correctly. HTTP, HTTPS,…from donutbrowser.com

A native macOS client for Hacker News, built with SwiftUIFeb 2026 · github.com · ▲265Hey HN! I built a native macOS desktop client for Hacker News and I'm open-sourcing it under the MIT license. I wrote an open-source browser alternative for Computer Use for any LLM2024 · github.com · ▲180Hey HN, I made Browser-Use, an open-source tool that lets (all Langchain supported) LLMs execute tasks directly in the browser just with function calling. It allows you to build agents that interact with web elements using natural language prompts. We created a layer that simplifies website interaction for LLMs by extracting xPaths and interactive elements like buttons and input fields (and other fancy things). This enables you to design custom web automation and scraping functions without manual inspection through DevTools. Hasn't this been done a lot of times? Good question, as a general…

My company launched a new open source web browser built on Chromium. It supports decentralized domains on Handshake and is the first browser to support .eth DNS. It is also the first browser to support secure web browsing with DANE. Check it out: https://impervious.com/beacon https://github.com/imperviousinc/beacon

I built a small utility that handles multiple browser instances for you2024 · github.com · ▲39I'm a consultant and I normally deal with multiple clients. I need an isolated browser for each to maintain my sanity. I could create separate profiles in Chrome and Firefox but the main issue is when you click on a link outside of the browser (e.g. in your IDE), in which profile should it be opened? I wrote a Python script that redirects URLs to the correct browser instance and set it as my default browser. Over time, the script has grown and become essential to my work. I cleaned it up and open-sourced it. Hope that someone else may find it useful too!

Talanoa▲341Hi HN, I’m a fullstack developer, and honestly, I’ve lost count of how many side projects I’ve worked on over the years. But one idea kept coming back to me: a different kind of email client. It first came to me in 2014: “What if we could handle emails more like conversations?” Every year, I’d revisit this concept in my “Build Notes.” Ten years later, no one had built exactly what I had in mind — so I finally decided to do it myself. That’s how Talanoa was born. I wanted something focused on people, not timelines. I was tired of marking messages as unread just to remember to reply later, or…

With social media and now AI, its important to keep the indie web alive. There are many people who write frequently. Blogosphere tries to highlight them by fetching the recent posts from personal blogs across many categories. There are two versions: Minimal (HN-inspired, fast, static): https://text.blogosphere.app/ Non-minimal: https://blogosphere.app/ If you don't find your blog (or your favorite ones), please add them. I will review and approve it.
