DoomStash: Save & Read Later

Save anything. Read it later. No feed, no algorithm.

What it does

DoomStash is a read-it-later app and bookmark manager for everything you want to save — articles, videos, recipes, Reddit threads, YouTube clips, and Instagram posts. Save from any app in one tap and come back whenever you're ready. No endless feeds, no algorithms, no distractions. Just your saves, all in one place.

A calm, private place to save articles, videos, and links from anywhere on the web, and find them again with full-text search. No feed. No ads.

A calm home for the links, videos, and articles you keep meaning to get back to. Save from any app, organize with buckets and tags, and read when you are ready. No feeds, no ads, no algorithm deciding what you see. Share any link and it is saved instantly — title, preview image, and a clean reading view added for you. Buckets and tags for whatever fits your life, plus full-text search across everything you save. Track what you have read, archive the rest, and choose Light, Dark, or the signature Newsprint theme. Send a reading list to anyone with a link — no account needed to view. Invite others to add saves with an edit link, and revoke accessfrom doomstash.com

Hello HN! I found that picking out plausible but diverse skin tones for my digital art and game development projects was kind of difficult, and I got curious about if there was a way to define a color space that made it easy. I've built a color picker and procedural generation algorithm based on the space as well as a bunch of other fun js features and demos throughout the page that use the equations. If you find it interesting, I have lots of explanations of how I built it and what properties the space has. The methodology might be a bit shaky, but hopefully the result is as helpful for…

  • I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.
