Duesteer
Chase late invoices without damaging client relationships
What it does
Late payments are common for freelancers and small businesses. But chasing isn't easy when it's a client you'd like to keep. Duesteer understands how each client behaves, tells you when to escalate, and drafts the right email for each step from a friendly reminder through disputes, broken promises and formal demand.
Duesteer is a guided invoice recovery app for freelancers and small businesses. Track unpaid invoices, follow a professional escalation ladder, and send the right payment follow-up at the right time.
Duesteer helps freelancers and small businesses track overdue invoices, choose the right next step, and send professional payment follow-ups without damaging client relationships. Free to manage up to 2 invoices · No account required to get started. When follow-ups are inconsistent, badly worded, or simply forgotten, overdue invoices drag on. Clients aren't sure how serious you are, and you're left guessing what to send next. Every reminder sounds different, so none of them carry real weight. Without a system, the next step slips and invoices quietly age out. It's hard to know when to get firmer — so most people never do. Enter the client, amount, and due date for an unpaid invoice.…from duesteer.app

I've heard many freelancers complaining about clients taking ages and ages to pay after a project has been completed. In my experience, I have seen that the invoice that gets "chased" is normally the one that gets paid first. Poutly send friendly email reminders (SMS coming soon) to past due clients. Would love your thoughts. http://paymentrem.herokuapp.com

Hello HN! I found that picking out plausible but diverse skin tones for my digital art and game development projects was kind of difficult, and I got curious about if there was a way to define a color space that made it easy. I've built a color picker and procedural generation algorithm based on the space as well as a bunch of other fun js features and demos throughout the page that use the equations. If you find it interesting, I have lots of explanations of how I built it and what properties the space has. The methodology might be a bit shaky, but hopefully the result is as helpful for…

I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.
