EasySwitch
One mouse, keyboard and second screen for all your computers
What it does
Existing tools make you choose. Software KVMs (Synergy, Deskflow, Mouse Without Borders) share your mouse and keyboard but carry no video. Second-screen apps (Duet, spacedesk, Luna) turn a spare machine into a monitor but share no input. EasySwitch does both: slide your cursor across computers, type and paste anywhere, drag files, and extend your desktop onto the machine next to you. Encryption is free for everyone, not an upsell. Wayland works. Native Rust, no Electron - 19 MB of RAM idle.
Control Mac, Windows and Linux computers with one keyboard and mouse, share clipboard and files, then turn another computer into a real second display.
EasySwitch links the computers on your desk into one workspace. Control them with one keyboard and mouse, move your clipboard and files between them, and turn another computer into a real second display. One cursor, one clipboard, three machines — and the third one is a display now. No cloud, no internet needed — and never a mirror of your desktop. A MacBook and a Windows PC on one desk: pair once, move files both ways, type across, then give each machine the other's screen. Filmed, not rendered. Four screens you'll actually use, captured on Linux. The same app runs on macOS and Windows. Two Macs, a Windows PC and three Linux machines — each with its OS, its status and the screen edge it…from easyswitch.realbrain.cc

Hello HN! I found that picking out plausible but diverse skin tones for my digital art and game development projects was kind of difficult, and I got curious about if there was a way to define a color space that made it easy. I've built a color picker and procedural generation algorithm based on the space as well as a bunch of other fun js features and demos throughout the page that use the equations. If you find it interesting, I have lots of explanations of how I built it and what properties the space has. The methodology might be a bit shaky, but hopefully the result is as helpful for…

I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.
