In plain words

Ejecta is an open-source JavaScript runtime for iOS that runs games and animations without browser components like divs, tables, or forms. It executes JavaScript through JavaScriptCore and renders Canvas graphics via OpenGL, with audio handled through OpenAL. Designed for developers, it provides touch, accelerometer, and gamepad support similar to web browsers, allowing HTML5 games to run natively on iOS with improved performance and audio quality.

From the sources

Ejecta is like a Browser without the Browser. It's specially crafted for Games and Animations. It has no DIVs, no Tables, no Forms – only Canvas and Audio elements. This focus makes it fast. JavaScript code is executed directly by a JavaScript VM (JavaScriptCore), the HTML5 Canvas 2D and WebGL API is implemented in native code with OpenGL, Audio is implemented with OpenAL. Several other APIs (touch, accelerometer, localStorage, gamepad) behave like those in a real browser. Many HTML5 Games run out of the box, or with minimal modifications – with better performance, better sound support, Game Center integration and more. While Ejecta works nicely with straight forward Canvas animations, it…from impactjs.com

Hello, Hacker News! My name is Lillian (see: http://about.lillian.link/), and I just released version 0.2 of my MIT-licensed game engine, Hypatia(http://lillian-lemmer.github.io/hypatia/). Hypatia is a game engine for single player 2D action adventure games. You can use it to make a game like Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons. Hypatia is aimed at non-programmers and programmers alike. I'm seeking any sort of feedback. Hypatia supports FreeBSD first, but has great support for just about any platform…

Hi HN, I’m a fullstack developer, and honestly, I’ve lost count of how many side projects I’ve worked on over the years. But one idea kept coming back to me: a different kind of email client. It first came to me in 2014: “What if we could handle emails more like conversations?” Every year, I’d revisit this concept in my “Build Notes.” Ten years later, no one had built exactly what I had in mind — so I finally decided to do it myself. That’s how Talanoa was born. I wanted something focused on people, not timelines. I was tired of marking messages as unread just to remember to reply later, or…
