Encrypt and upload files to IPFS from browser
Hi HN, I'm building ThirdCloud with the goal to replace Google Drive for everyone: more private, cheaper & maybe better UI/UX. So far, I've successfully implemented the main feature, which involves uploading and downloading files. Files are encrypted before being sent to IPFS network. Would like to hear your thoughts on this proof of concept.

In plain words
ThirdCloud is a browser-based file storage service that encrypts files before uploading them to the IPFS network. Users can upload and download files with encryption as the core feature. The tool targets people seeking a private alternative to Google Drive, positioning itself as more private and cost-effective. The creator is currently showing a proof of concept of the main upload and download functionality.

Hello HN, Over the last year we've been building ente[1], a privacy-friendly, easy-to-use alternative to Google Photos. We've so far built Android[2][3], iOS[4], web[5] apps that encrypt your files and back them up in the background. You can access these across your devices, and share them with other ente users, end-to-end encrypted. You can also use our electron app[6] to maintain a local copy of your backed up files. We've built a fault-tolerant data replication layer that replicates your data to two different storage providers in the EU. We will be providing additional replicas as an…
