In plain words
Proton Mail is a secure email service based in Switzerland that uses end-to-end encryption to keep messages private from the company itself. Available on web and mobile platforms, it offers free accounts supported by optional paid subscriptions rather than data collection or advertising. Unlike Gmail and Outlook, Proton Mail never accesses user inboxes and does not scan messages for ads or data sharing, with encryption protecting emails whether users choose free or premium plans.
