What it does

The C++ Mathematical Expression Toolkit Library ( ExprTk ) is a versatile, simple to use, easy to integrate and extremely efficient runtime mathematical expression parser and evaluation engine. ExprTk supports numerous forms of functional, logical and vector processing semantics and is very easily extendible. Free use of the C++ Mathematical Expression Library is permitted under the guidelines and in accordance with the Open Source MIT License. Note: NumericType can be any floating point type. This includes but is not limited to: float, double, long double, MPFR or any custom type conforming to an interface compatible with the standard floating point type. This C library is part of a main project aimed at providing a reactive key-value (KV) database. The data is typed (numbers, strings, dates, or booleans) and can include formulas with references to other entries. Clients connected to this database receive a real-time data stream with updates to the subscribed keys, allowing them to react to changes and their dependencies. Essentially, it’s like building a distributed Excel, where data and formulas dynamically update across the system. I couldn’t find any libraries that offered the full set of features I needed for evaluating expressions, so I…

Hi HN! Korean high school senior here, about to start CS in college. I built a browser engine from scratch in C++ to understand how browsers work. First time using C++, 8 weeks of development, lots of debugging—but it works! Features: - HTML parsing with error correction - CSS cascade and inheritance - Block/inline layout engine - Async image loading + caching - Link navigation + history Hardest parts: - String parsing(html, css) - Rendering - Image Caching & Layout Reflowing What I learned (beyond code): - Systematic debugging is crucial - Ship with known bugs rather than chase…

Hey HN! I wanted to share something I built over the last few weeks: isometric.nyc is a massive isometric pixel art map of NYC, built with nano banana and coding agents. I didn't write a single line of code. Of course no-code doesn't mean no-engineering. This project took a lot more manual labor than I'd hoped! I wrote a deep dive on the workflow and some thoughts about the future of AI coding and creativity: http://cannoneyed.com/projects/isometric-nyc
