Fernpix
Check if a listing photo will pass — 100% on-device.
What it does
Fernpix is a local-first image toolkit for marketplace sellers and anyone fighting upload limits. Drop a Shopee / Lazada / TikTok Shop main image into Will It Pass? — Fernpix checks 1:1, white background, file size, and format in the browser, then fixes what it can. Nothing is uploaded. Your unreleased SKUs never leave the device. Free checks stay free. Pro batch-repairs a catalog and ZIP-exports. Also: compress, HEIC→JPG, ID photos, product cutout, and photo restore — all on-device.
Check whether a Shopee, Lazada, or TikTok Shop listing photo will pass — on your device. Fix white background, square, size, and format locally. No catalog upload.
Judge the gate first; fix what we can on this device — nothing leaves the browser. On phones: tap this area to choose a photo from your library. Processed locally in your browser. Nothing is uploaded. Downloads don’t keep location EXIF. White bg, file size, square crop — fix what this gate owns, then download. Shopee / Lazada / TikTok Shop batch rules — white bg, 1:1, size — still on-device. Many photos, stacked steps, Pro pipelines — still on-device. Compress, convert, cutout, watermark, compliance — stacked as a pipeline. Studios are single-photo scenes; Workbench is batch + Pro depth. Still on yourfrom fernpix.com

Hello HN! I found that picking out plausible but diverse skin tones for my digital art and game development projects was kind of difficult, and I got curious about if there was a way to define a color space that made it easy. I've built a color picker and procedural generation algorithm based on the space as well as a bunch of other fun js features and demos throughout the page that use the equations. If you find it interesting, I have lots of explanations of how I built it and what properties the space has. The methodology might be a bit shaky, but hopefully the result is as helpful for…

I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.
