Focus Firewall
Get hours of focus back from distractions during work hours
Focus Firewall launched on May 31, 2024 with 84 votes, #557 of 4,539 launches that month and more than 75% of that year's launches. The site was still online in September 2026, 2 years on.
What it does
Focus Firewall helps reclaim time, improve online habits and context switching by blocking distracting websites & apps during your working hours. People average 2 hours a day on social media/streaming. Our mission is to help gradually reduce that number.
Unplug from the distracting side of the internet. Focus on what you opened your Mac for. Focus Firewall keeps you away from X, Instagram, YouTube, Reddit, TikTok, and more.
That's by design. Most websites today profit from your attention and are designed to keep you hooked. All it takes is one innocent click to fall into the rabbit hole. Set your hours once. Instagram , YouTube and Reddit stop loading on schedule. Pause for ten minutes and blocking comes back on by itself. Stopping or pausing takes just enough friction to make you think twice. Time per site, hour by hour, counted with blocking on or off. Everything stays on your Mac. 155+ websites and 9 messaging apps already on the list. Add any site or app you want gone. No extensions. No account. No data collected. Nothing leaves your Mac. Have a question that isn't here? Check out Support or email…from focusfirewall.com
