Fokus
Plan five tasks, then focus in a quiet Mac capsule
Fokus launched on May 12, 2026 with 1 votes.
What it does
Fokus is a minimalist Mac focus app built around one daily constraint: choose up to five meaningful tasks, open one into a 25-minute normal timer or 45-minute deep focus timer, then keep it visible in a floating window or quiet capsule while you work.
Fokus is a minimalist Mac focus app for choosing the few things that matter and staying immersed until they are done.
Steve Jobs was known for a ruthless kind of focus: choose the few priorities that matter, then say no to the rest. Fokus turns that idea into a simple daily ritual: pick up to five things, then work on one at a time. Write down the five tasks that would make today feel complete. Select the task that deserves the next uninterrupted block of attention. Keep time and the active task visible without opening another workspace. Mark progress, breathe, and move to the next thing only when it is time. Finish the day with a small list that shows what actually moved forward. Fokus is designed for the moment before work starts: write no more than five tasks, open one task into a timer, then keep it…from ifokus.netlify.app

I made a app that uses NFC as a physical switch to block distractions2025 · foqos.app · ▲225Hi HN! Super proud to showcase Foqos! I wanted to create a way to physically block apps on my phone, always had a bunch of NFC tags, combined the 2 together over the holiday break and Foqos was born. You can create profiles, write them to NFC tags and track your weekly focus. Its completely open source and will always be free! There is an affiliate link in the app for nfc tags and donations are completely optional Link here: https://apps.apple.com/ca/app/foqos/id6736793117

Parallel agents, diff reviewer, and multi-model comparisons

Hey HN, Henry here from Cactus. We open-sourced Needle, a 26M parameter function-calling (tool use) model. It runs at 6000 tok/s prefill and 1200 tok/s decode on consumer devices. We were always frustrated by the little effort made towards building agentic models that run on budget phones, so we conducted investigations that led to an observation: agentic experiences are built upon tool calling, and massive models are overkill for it. Tool calling is fundamentally retrieval-and-assembly (match query to tool name, extract argument values, emit JSON), not reasoning. Cross-attention…
