Hi HN! We’ve been working on Fonic, a tool for turning scattered notes, metric, transcripts, screenshots, and project updates into an interactive report you can easily share. Here’s a quick demo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GNzw_h2Ztnw We kept hearing the same complaint from account managers: they were spending hours every week building client updates. Most of the source material already existed. The hard part was pulling it together from docs, Slack threads, screenshots, transcripts, and project tools and turning it into something they're proud enough to send. We found that ChatGPT and Claude helped with analysis, but then you're back to a plain Google Doc or an email chain waiting for replies. So we built Fonic. It pulls the material together, uses AI to structure it, and generates an interactive report or page you can share with a link. People can ask questions, leave comments, and respond to action items inside the report. Under the hood it’s mostly Claude and Vercel’s AI SDK. The interesting part for us has been the workflow around assembling context and making the result feel more useful than either a plain doc or an AI chat. Hi HN, 8 months ago, I posted “Ask HN: I built it nobody came, what now?” and got a ton of (not very optimistic) feedback [1]. I took away 3 things: 1. The message wasn’t properly targeted 2. The onboarding experience was terrible. 3. Someone posted some advice to find leads which actually worked, yeah! So here we are. 8 months later. I unfortunately didn’t have a lot of time to put in the tool itself. But I improved the website, improved the onboarding, and got a paying customer who seems to really like the software.
