From PHP to Python – A Straight-to-the-Point Guide
Hello everyone! After two years of hard work, I'm excited to announce the release of my first book, "From PHP to Python". As developers, it can be frustrating to learn a new language from scratch. This is why I wrote this book to help PHP developers quickly learn Python by focusing on what's different and taking shortcuts when things are similar. It's written in a straight-to-the-point style and the chapters are concise and condensed. The book covers everything needed in my opinion to have solid foundations in Python, in a web-oriented approach. After finishing this book, you will be able to…

After finishing this book, you will be able to use Python at work, write unit tests, publish an open-source package, and contribute to interesting projects. This project is not about criticizing PHP: I still work with both languages and I think it's great to be able to use different tools and paradigms. Two free sample chapters are available: Working with regexes (https://einenlum.com/books/fromphptopython/sample-chapters/r...) and Match case (https://einenlum.com/books/fromphptopython/sample-chapters/m...). I hope this book can be useful to some curious developers out there. I think I managed to make the book I wish I had when I started learning Python. I would love to get your feedback on my project, whether it's about the Table of Contents or the content itself. The book will be regularly updated with new PHP and Python versions, and I will try to make it better thanks to all the remarks from the readers.

Hi everyone! I just released the Practical Python Projects book! (https://practicalpython.yasoob.me) I am happy to announce the first version as a release candidate. I have poured a lot of love into writing this book and would love to hear what you guys think. (A limited 100% off and discount coupons at the end) This is not a pure beginner book. The book does assume some background Python knowledge. You need to know the basics like methods, functions, classes, and such. If I use something that is not typically covered in beginner Python books, I will explain it before I use it.…

Hi HN, Over the past 6 months I've been working on a technical book focused on helping aspiring data scientists to get hands-on experience with cloud computing environments using the Python ecosystem. The book is targeted at readers already familiar with libraries such as Pandas and scikit-learn that are looking to build out a portfolio of applied projects. To author the book, I used the Leanpub platform to provide drafts of the text as I completed each chapter. To typeset the book, I used the R bookdown package by Yihui Xie to translate my markdown into a PDF format. I also used Google docs…

Hey HN. I've just launched my very first webappp and would love your feedback. http://www.7bks.com It's a book list sharing website - kind of like playlists for bookworms. The site is built on pyton/appengine - and I learned to code in under 4 weeks to build the site. There's more details on the background of the site here: http://www.7bks.com/blog/179001 I've also published the full Python code for the site here: https://gist.github.com/670034 Feedback is really important to me and I want to work hard to make the site better so any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated.
