Fuse.js: The opinionated framework for creating typesafe data layers
Data layers enable frontend teams to transform backend APIs for their UIs. Fuse.js is tailor-made to make it simple to build data layers, starting with first-class support for Next.js.

In plain words
Fuse.js is a framework for building typesafe data layers, launched in December 2023. It's designed for developers who need to create data access patterns with type safety built in. The framework takes an opinionated approach to how data layers should be structured, helping developers avoid common mistakes through its architectural constraints and type system.

We are excited to announce Fuse.js, an opinionated open source framework for creating typesafe data layers with ease . It’s tailor-made to make it simple to transform backend APIs to frontend needs. We’ve spoken with hundreds of companies about their APIs and how they manage the interface between backend and frontend, and we’ve learned that a select group of the most successful companies all use data layers. But this data layer architecture isn’t widely known and hasn’t had a name—until today. A data layer is a dedicated service between the backend APIs and the clients. Crucially, it is owned by the frontend teams, enabling them to connect, transform, and extend backend APIs for their UIs.…from stellate.co

I made a CLI tool to create web extensions with no build configuration2024 · github.com · ▲381Hello HN! I'm the creator and solo developer of Extension.js, a development tool for browser extensions with built-in support for TypeScript, WebAssembly, React, and modern JavaScript. Developers use it to spend less time configuring the compilation config or learning new frameworks and more time actually writing code. Most projects similar to Extension.js rely on some sort of abstraction or configuration to get started, making the initial development process slow given the extra learning curve and setup guidelines. By using Extension.js, adding the package to your npm scripts is all it…

Talanoa▲346Hi HN, I’m a fullstack developer, and honestly, I’ve lost count of how many side projects I’ve worked on over the years. But one idea kept coming back to me: a different kind of email client. It first came to me in 2014: “What if we could handle emails more like conversations?” Every year, I’d revisit this concept in my “Build Notes.” Ten years later, no one had built exactly what I had in mind — so I finally decided to do it myself. That’s how Talanoa was born. I wanted something focused on people, not timelines. I was tired of marking messages as unread just to remember to reply later, or…

Hi HN! I’m proud to share that we have built a real 3rd party iMessage client for Android. We did it by reverse engineering the iMessage protocol and encryption system. It's available to download today (no waitlist): https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.beeper.ima and there's a technical writeup here: https://blog.beeper.com/p/how-beeper-mini-works. Unlike every other attempt to build an iMessage app for Android (including our first gen app), Beeper Mini does not use a Mac server relay in the cloud. The app connects directly to Apple…

Hey! I made Heynote entirely for my own use case. For many years, I always had an Emacs instance running with the scratch buffer open, even long after I had abandoned Emacs as my programming editor in favor of more recent IDE:s. The simplicity of having just one big scratch buffer appeals to me, but I still want to separate the different things I jot down somehow (without using tabs or similar). Previously, my solution was to insert a bunch of blank lines between the notes, but hitting C-A would still select the entire buffer. That's why I came up with the concept of "blocks", which turned…
