GameBrain API

Friend and me created a video game discovery website trying to answer the "what to play next" question. Unlike most other sites we wanted to support every platform, so whether you look for something on your PC, Playstation, Switch or even your phone or browser you should find something. We're still in the early stages and seek feedback (especially on the https://gamebrain.co/what-should-i-play and https://gamebrain.co/recommendations flows). Any well-meaning feedback is highly appreciated!

GameBrain API launched on June 13, 2026 with 17 votes, #930 of 22,647 launches that month and more than 95% of that year's launches.

What it does

GameBrain is one of the largest video game databases and discovery services. Our API gives you access to 775,000+ games across 70+ platforms, with 767M+ user ratings, screenshots, videos, similar games, store offers, semantic search, and a unique Game Brain Score. There's also an MCP integration to connect game data to AI chatbots. Free tier available.

GameBrain is one of the largest video game database and game discovery service . And we are gladly sharing our 800,000+ games , search, and machine learning recommendations with the world. Learn what the GameBrain games database API can do and build something cool with it! Unique Game Brain Score (GBS) consisting of user and critic ratings. The GBS combines thousands of player and critic reviews and combines them into a single meaningful score - no other meta score combines that many data points into a single score. Find games with only partial input. This is especially useful for query suggestions while the user is typing. Get all the details about a game (in this example Kingdom Come…from gamebrain.co

I love seeing all the small games that people build and post to this site. I don't want to forget any, so I have built a directory/arcade for the games here that I maintain. Feel free to check it out, add your game if its missing and let me know what you think. Thanks!

Hey HN, I’m the solo developer of Search to Play, a social bookmarking platform for gamers — kind of like Letterboxd or Goodreads, but for video games. You can log your games, track your backlog, write reviews, and follow others. I’m building this as an alternative to spreadsheet tracking or platform-locked tools (Steam, PSN, etc). Would love your feedback! Happy to answer any questions here.

    A website/app to help manage your game library2025 · gamenode.app · ▲26

So, me (dev) and my friend (designer) have been building a website/mobile app to help users manage their game library (think MyAnimeList, but games) for a little over a year. We launched with a very basic set of features, and have been slowing expanding since then. All the code is open source, and most of the things we implemented were direct feedback from users (e.g. being able to import games from Steam/PSN, and the Posts feature). We don't show ads or have any kind of subscription. This is just a hobby project. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated, as honestly the hardest…

Hi HN, I’m a fullstack developer, and honestly, I’ve lost count of how many side projects I’ve worked on over the years. But one idea kept coming back to me: a different kind of email client. It first came to me in 2014: “What if we could handle emails more like conversations?” Every year, I’d revisit this concept in my “Build Notes.” Ten years later, no one had built exactly what I had in mind — so I finally decided to do it myself. That’s how Talanoa was born. I wanted something focused on people, not timelines. I was tired of marking messages as unread just to remember to reply later, or…

The most significant changes since 5.1.0 are a new tap trust security mechanism, the new faster, smaller, default internal Homebrew JSON API, sandboxing on Linux, better defaults informed by our user survey, many brew bundle improvements, improved performance and initial support for macOS 27 (Golden Gate).
