What it does
You know GitHub's green squares, one for every day you wrote code. This is that, for the rest of your life. Write down a few things each morning, tick them off, and watch your year fill in. Older days lock, so the picture stays true. Free.
Improving 1% a day compounds to 37.78 times over a year. Write down five things each morning, check off what you finish, and keep a record of the days you did. Free.
Write down five things each morning. Tick them off. Watch the year fill in. Free to use. No card needed. Takes about a minute to set up. One square a day, for a year. Nobody fills all 365, and you do not have to. The grid remembers for you, so you can see the shape of your own year instead of trying to recall it. If it takes longer than that, you stop doing it by week two. Each morning, list the five things that would make today count. One tap each, as you finish them. Add a time or a folder if you want. Every day becomes a square. Green for the days you showed up. You can check the maths yourself. Here is what 1% a day does over 365 days, in both directions. Nobody can really measure 1% of…from getonepercentbetter.net

Clipto MCP▲655Hey HN, We recently built Clipto. It’s a tool that lets you search over terabytes of video, audio, and images on your computer, without relying on the cloud. Motivation: we probably all had this similar experience, we know a moment exists in a video or audio, but finding it takes hours scrubbing the timeline. You can send all the media to process in the cloud, but it’s slow, expensive and raises privacy concerns. So we decided to build our own on-device media search engine. How it works (high level): 1. We ingest video, audio, image; normalize formats via ffmpeg; run content analysis to…

Hello HN! I found that picking out plausible but diverse skin tones for my digital art and game development projects was kind of difficult, and I got curious about if there was a way to define a color space that made it easy. I've built a color picker and procedural generation algorithm based on the space as well as a bunch of other fun js features and demos throughout the page that use the equations. If you find it interesting, I have lots of explanations of how I built it and what properties the space has. The methodology might be a bit shaky, but hopefully the result is as helpful for…
