What it does
We prefer a world where kids aren't sold energy drinks by their heroes. So as a community of action sports enthusiasts, we've formed a DAO to rethink how extreme sportspeople get sponsored. Extremely nounish.
Gnars is a community-owned skateboarding DAO funding skate culture worldwide through auctions, proposals, and grants.
Deposit into a rider's sponsorship vault. Only the yield is shared — you keep 50%, the rider gets 25%, the Gnars treasury gets 25%. Withdraw the principal whenever you want. Sponsorships used to mean one brand writing one check. Now anyone can co-sponsor a rider — deposit, keep your principal, and let the yield do the giving. Gnars Bounties are challenges from the community: pay athletes in ETH to land the tricks, runs, and stunts the community wants to see filmed. Submit an action of removing 20+ pieces of trash from a beach or shallow reef area at a geotagged location. Take a photo of before/after with trash tally + GPS pin and document the action in socials (Instagram, LinkedIn, X).…from gnars.com
