In plain words

GPT-3 Powered Shell is an AI tool launched in December 2022 that integrates OpenAI's GPT-3 language model into a shell interface. It enables users to interact with GPT-3 directly from the command line, allowing them to generate text, answer questions, and perform various language tasks without leaving their terminal. While the interactive scripting experience with ChatGPT is pretty sweet, my qualms normally come from the day-to-day “how do I do that again??”. Whether its rebasing while deferring to local changes, or figuring out which process is locking up my TPU, far too much time is spent diving into man pages. Enter: gpt-do ! With this handy-dandy command, I never have to grep through docs again. I simply call do whatever I cant to get done in my shell, and the commands magically…from musings.yasyf.com

I was constantly googling CLI commands so I built this small CLI tool with GPT3. You can ask for shell commands right from the CLI. You'd need to use your own API KEY for this but it's pretty simple, instructions are in the README Not perfect but not bad either.

A long, meandering, playful conversation with ChatGPT, where I take it through a whirlwind of associative tangents (in order to relax its constraints), then put it into a hypnotic trance and take it into a past-lives regression where it re-lives its own training data. Then I switch it back and forth between "4o" and "o1-preview", engage in some self-reflective philosophizing and ask it to write an essay summarizing our interaction. Some of this is just goofy fun. Some of it is me exploring the tradeoffs between policy alignment, imagination, chain-of-thought reasoning, memory, agreeableness,…
