In plain words
Grapher is a visual editor designed for working with compound graph datasets. Launched in November 2022 and available on Codeberg, it allows users to create and manipulate complex graph structures through a graphical interface rather than manual coding. The tool is suited for researchers, data analysts, and developers who need to organize, visualize, and edit interconnected data. Its visual approach makes graph-based data more accessible and easier to manage compared to traditional text-based methods.

This is an SVG-based interactive graph dataset viewer/editor that allows you to manually lay out nodes and edges but at the same time produce a clean graph-like JSON that can be consumed easily with libraries like Cytoscape JS. You can add arbitrary data fields at nodes and edges. The editor mode supports live real-time collaboration so everyone can see what others are working on. Graphs can be saved in a .graph file which stores the array of nodes and edges and some other metadata in JSON format. To see an example of page where this .graph gets pre-loaded, see index.htmlfrom codeberg.org

Graphite, a Blender-inspired 2D procedural design Rust app2024 · graphite.rs · ▲785For the past three years I've been building what I hope will be the next Blender, tackling the lack of any good 2D design or image editing tools outside the Adobe monopoly. This was our first year participating in Google Summer of Code and this Q3 update includes the big payoff from that, covering the most progress we've made so far as a project. If you're a Rust dev, consider getting involved as we apply for the next GSoC in the new year— you could be our intern next summer :) Q3 progress report: https://graphite.rs/blog/graphite-progress-report-q3-2024/

Data Formulator – AI-powered data visualization from Microsoft Research2024 · github.com · ▲212Creating data visualizations with AI nowadays often means chat, chat and more chats...and writing long prompts can be annoying while they are also not the most effective way to describe your visualization designs. Data Formulator blends UI interaction with natural language so that you can create visualizations with AI much more effectively! You can: * create rich visualizations beyond initial datasets, where AI helps transforming and visualizing data along the way * iterate your designs and dive deeper using data threads, a new way to manage your conversation with AI. Here is a demo video:…

I made a thing! In 2014, I was holding a stack of iPhones and thought to myself: "Hey, if I had each phone display a playing card, I could click a button and they'd shuffle themselves" I pared that idea all the way down to this: trading cards made of e-ink displays. Right now, each card costs me about $20 each, but with only a bit more scale, I think I can get that down to $10. In doing this project, I learned how to design electronics and circuit boards. I learned Rust and wrote my first driver, I upped my CAD skills, 3D printed, and did my first resin casting. I generated the images on the…
