GreenCoin: How We Are Reducing Carbon Emissions
Just thought I'd let HN know about this new effort to reduce carbon emissions. GreenCoin is a crypto-currency like Bitcoin used to incentivize individuals to reduce carbon emissions by lowering their costs of using renewable energy. You may think of it as free "Rewards Points" that are eventually redeemable for Bitcoin or cash. Each day over 1.4 million are given away to all currently registered solar producers. GreenCoin is a crypto-currency like Bitcoin used to incentivize individuals to reduce carbon emissions by lowering their costs of using renewable energy. You may think of it as free "Rewards Points" that are eventually redeemable for Bitcoin or cash. Each day over 1.4 million are given away to all currently registered solar producers. Just like BitCoin, there are active miners mining GreenCoin. Half of the mined coins go to the miners, while the other half go to the non-profit foundation, which then gives them to solar producers. Importantly, there are no pre-mined coins. If you are a solar producer all you have to do is register at the link below then send a picture of your meter reading to start receiving the free coins. http://grcoin.com/pages/welcome You never know, getting into GreenCoin now could by like getting into Bitcoin in 2009!
