Hathora Models – Voice Model Marketplace
Hey HN, this is Harsh from Hathora. We started as a game server hosting company and are launching a new offering today centered around voice models, leveraging our existing platform that runs game servers. We hope to achieve a few things with this product: 1. Democratized access to a wide variety of open source and licensed voice models 2. Ability to mix and match speech to text, reasoning (llm), and text to speech models to form inference chains for agentic voice workflows 3. Focus on latency reduction via (a) running models in 14+ regions around the globe, and (b) colocating models in the…

Hey HN, this is Harsh from Hathora. We hope to achieve a few things with this product: 1. Democratized access to a wide variety of open source and licensed voice models 2. Focus on latency reduction via (a) running models in 14+ regions around the globe, and (b) colocating models in the same datacenter to reduce networking overhead within a inference chain The models are made accessible as Serverless API endpoints with token/duration based billing, and also available as dedicated deployments for enterprises with specific compliance requirements. I've been deeply involved in working with AI agents and large language models (LLMs) for a while now. During a recent job search, I found myself repeatedly explaining my skills and experiences to various assistants. Around the same time, I was creating content for my website to help hiring teams understand my capabilities better and make informed decisions. MCP had started to gain momentum and I saw a way to reduce my toil. So I built an MCP server that can effectively communicate my qualifications as a job candidate. This server acts as an AI-powered resume, providing an understanding of my…

I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.

Hey HN, Henry from Cactus here! We previously released Cactus Needle, a 14MB agentic LLM for tool call, device use, and structured extraction for phones, wearables, smart homes, small robots and microcontrollers. We got really great feedback here, and have now incorporated the suggestions to release Needle 2. The whole model is a single 14MB binary that runs a full session in 28MB of RAM; 45m parameters at 2bit compression. Needle hits 500 tokens/sec decode speed on a Raspberry Pi 5, sits between 400-1,500 tokens/sec on VR devices like Meta Quest 3S and Apple Vision Pro, and ranges…
