What it does
When the world needs our help we often wonder how. Help Genie is for discovering and sharing ways to help each other. Built in response to the ongoing situation in Ukraine (03-02-2022) this site serves as an index of resources for those looking to help.
On Thursday, Feb. 24, 2022, troops from Russia crossed the border and launched an attack on Ukraine’s North, South, and East regions. The situation is quickly unfolding, with attacks on Ukraine having taken place continuously throughout the past few days, threatening the safety of millions of people in the country. In response, citizens around the world have shown their solidarity with Ukraine in various ways. Aggression will continue to result in violence, as hundreds of thousands of people are being displaced while others continue to fight for their rights of sovereignty. Hi HN! I made many small web games in the past with Unity or Phaser. But this time I wanted to make something completely on my own. So I coded a basic game framework in plain JavaScript, and used it to make Almost Pong. This was a really fun project that taught me a lot about JavaScript, and I plan to make more minimalist games with this framework. Interesting fact: Almost Pong doesn't load any assets, all sprites and sounds are generated with code. Happy to answer questions, and please let me know if you have any feedback on the game. Thanks!
