Hereditas

Open in case of sudden disappearance

Hereditas launched on April 15, 2020 with 4 votes, #2,018 of 5,003 launches that month. The site was still online in September 2026, 6 years on.

What it does

Hereditas, which means inheritance in Latin, is a static website generator that builds fully-trustless digital legacy boxes , where you can store information for your relatives to access in case of your sudden death or disappearance. For example, you could use this to pass information such as passwords, cryptographic keys, cryptocurrency wallets, sensitive documents, etc. Note: the video above was recorded with Hereditas 0.1. The design of the interface has been improved and made nicer in 0.2. Check out the announcement blog post to understand more about why we built Hereditas and why you need it too. We’ve designed Hereditas with three principles in mind. With Hereditas, you…from hereditas.app

  • Stasher – Burn-after-read secrets from the CLI, no server, no trust2025 · github.com · ▲72

Stasher is a tiny CLI tool that lets you share encrypted secrets that burn after reading — no accounts, no logins, no servers to trust. I built it because I just wanted to share a password. Not spin up infra. Not register for some "secure" web app. Not trust Slack threads. Just send a secret. Secrets are encrypted client-side with AES-256-GCM. You get a `uuid:key` token to share. Once someone reads it, it's gone. If they don't read it in 10 minutes, it expires and deleted. Everything is verifiable. Every release is signed, SLSA-attested, SBOM-included, and logged in the Rekor transparency…

Hi HN, I’m a fullstack developer, and honestly, I’ve lost count of how many side projects I’ve worked on over the years. But one idea kept coming back to me: a different kind of email client. It first came to me in 2014: “What if we could handle emails more like conversations?” Every year, I’d revisit this concept in my “Build Notes.” Ten years later, no one had built exactly what I had in mind — so I finally decided to do it myself. That’s how Talanoa was born. I wanted something focused on people, not timelines. I was tired of marking messages as unread just to remember to reply later, or…

  • https://github.com/OlexG/finclaw ^ repo if anyone wants to contribute. I realized that sometimes I'm pretty good at making random guesses about the future. (I.E, I think OpenAI will beat Anthropic in the short term, etc...) However, I'm bad at converting these guesses into actual market plays I can profit from. As such, I wanted to make a tool that connects to the right APIs and launches a swarm of agent experts to generate related plays based on your prediction. The very first super shitty V0 MPV just has Polymarket/Kalshi bets, but I will be adding a more complex…
