Homeworld

Chores build the Eiffel Tower. The whole family plays.

What it does

Every chore anyone finishes adds points to a landmark your family builds together. Finish it, celebrate with a real reward, stamp it in your World Passport, pick the next one. No leaderboard, no weekly reset. Parents play too.

Homeworld is a chore app for families. Every chore earns points toward a shared landmark — finish it and celebrate with a real reward, together. No leaderboard, no nagging. Free on the App Store and Google Play.

Chores earn points toward one shared build, like the Eiffel Tower. Hit 100% and the whole family celebrates with a real reward you picked together. The real app, one family, 93 seconds — from the first chore of the day to Stamp Day. “Every chore chart works for about a week. Then you’re back to reminding everyone ten times.” Homeworld swaps the chart for a landmark the whole family is building, one chore at a time, so the motivation doesn’t fade after week one. Adults and kids sit in the same list: same size, same weight. No admin account lording over a kid's chart. Dishes, homework, laundry. It all funnels into the same build. Everyone watches the tower rise. A real celebration reveal, wax…from homeworld.my.id

Hello HN! I found that picking out plausible but diverse skin tones for my digital art and game development projects was kind of difficult, and I got curious about if there was a way to define a color space that made it easy. I've built a color picker and procedural generation algorithm based on the space as well as a bunch of other fun js features and demos throughout the page that use the equations. If you find it interesting, I have lots of explanations of how I built it and what properties the space has. The methodology might be a bit shaky, but hopefully the result is as helpful for…

  • I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.
