Hosting by webapp.io
Global CDN, zero config TLS, free custom domains
Hosting by webapp.io launched on February 10, 2023 with 105 votes, #409 of 3,829 launches that month and more than 75% of that year's launches. The site was still online in September 2026, 3 years on.
What it does
It's like if Vercel and Docker had a baby: You write VM configurations in a language that looks like a Dockerfile, and every commit creates a preview environment that can be "promoted" to a production site.
Webapp.io is a DevOps platform for developers of modern webapps.
Build your full stack web app with your favourite framework, and deploy with webapp.io. Every time you make a commit to a branch, we’ll re-build your web app and run CI/CD against your commit. Once your CI has passed and you've reviewed your preview environment, deploy your site to a domain of your choice. When a user visits your webapp, we’ll give them the frontend in milliseconds using our CDN, and wake up the backend. For hydrated frameworks like NextJS, this means the user won’t even notice that your backend wasfrom webapp.io

I open-sourced my Go and Next B2B SaaS Starter (deploy anywhere, MIT)Dec 2025 · github.com · ▲83Hi HN, I'm Mohammed, a technical founder who loves shipping and giving back to the community. I'm open-sourcing the full-stack engine that powers my B2B product, apflow.co. What it is: A production B2B starter with a Go backend and Next.js frontend. Both are fully Dockerized with separate containers. No Vercel. No Supabase. Deploy the whole thing on a $6 VPS, or split frontend and backend across different providers. You own the infrastructure. The problem I was solving: Every SaaS starter I evaluated had the same issue: they locked me into someone else's platform. Vercel for hosting.…
KeystoneMar 2026 · github.com · ▲125We kept hitting the same wall: you clone some arbitrary repo and just want it to run without any configuration work. So we built Keystone, an open source tool that spins up a Modal sandbox, runs Claude Code inside it, and produces a working .devcontainer/ config (Dockerfile, devcontainer.json, test runner) for any git repo. We build on the dev container standard, so the output works with VS Code and GitHub Codespaces out of the box. Main use cases: reproducible dev/CI environments, self-describing repos, and safely sandboxed coding agents. Our goal is to encourage all repos to…

Run LLMs in Docker for any language without prebuilding containersJan 2026 · github.com · ▲26I've been looking for a way to run LLMs safely without needing to approve every command. There are plenty of projects out there that run the agent in docker, but they don't always contain the dependencies that I need. Then it struck me. I already define project dependencies with mise. What if we could build a container on the fly for any project by reading the mise config? I've been using agent-en-place for a couple of weeks now, and it's working great! I'd love to hear what y'all think

Talanoa▲346Hi HN, I’m a fullstack developer, and honestly, I’ve lost count of how many side projects I’ve worked on over the years. But one idea kept coming back to me: a different kind of email client. It first came to me in 2014: “What if we could handle emails more like conversations?” Every year, I’d revisit this concept in my “Build Notes.” Ten years later, no one had built exactly what I had in mind — so I finally decided to do it myself. That’s how Talanoa was born. I wanted something focused on people, not timelines. I was tired of marking messages as unread just to remember to reply later, or…
