I applied Lyapunov stability theory to detect when LLM agents spiral
In plain words
This software applies Lyapunov stability theory to detect when large language model agents enter spiral patterns, likely indicating unstable or runaway behavior. It's designed for developers and researchers working with LLM-based systems who need to monitor agent stability. The tool uses mathematical stability analysis rather than traditional heuristics to identify problematic agent states before they escalate.

Single-agent LLMs suck at long-running complex tasks. We’ve open-sourced a multi-agent orchestrator that we’ve been using to handle long-running LLM tasks. We found that single LLM agents tend to stall, loop, or generate non-compiling code, so we built a harness for agents to coordinate over shared context while work is in progress. How it works: 1. Orchestrator agent that manages task decomposition 2. Sub-agents for parallel work 3. Subscriptions to task state and progress 4. Real-time sharing of intermediate discoveries between agents We tested this on a Putnam-level math problem, but the…
- FGFine-grained stylistic control of LLMs using model arithmetic2023 · github.com · ▲85
We developed a new framework that enables flexible control of generated text in language models. By combining several models and/or system prompts in one mathematical formula, it lets you tweak your style and combine model outputs with ease. A handy tool for those working with LLMs, looking for more fine-grained control of stylistic output. More details in our paper: https://arxiv.org/abs/2311.14479. Feedback and potential applications are welcome.

G'day, HN! I'm one of the maintainers of `llm`. I've been working alongside a trusty group of contributors to bring this project to life, and we're now at a point where we're ready to share it with the world. Large language models (LLMs) are taking the computing world by storm due to their emergent abilities that allow them to perform a wide variety of tasks, including translation, summarization, code generation, and even some degree of reasoning. However, the ecosystem around LLMs is still in its infancy, and it can be difficult to get started with these models. `llm` is a one-stop shop for…
- MRMorph Reflexes – Multi-head classifiers for agent tracesJun 2026 · ▲20
The most common failures for production agents are behavioral: looping, reasoning leakage, user frustration, and more. Using a frontier model like GPT or Sonnet to judge every turn is too expensive and slow to run at scale. To solve this, we built Reflexes: semantic signals from agent traces, served fast and cheap over API. Built on custom kernels and a custom inference engine forked from vLLM. Under the hood, it is a small LLM architected around multi-head inference. Small models need to be trained for specific tasks, but running 50 separate small models on the same input for 50 tasks makes…
- RBRLM-based local debugger for AI agent tracesJun 2026 · github.com · ▲27
We built HALO (Hierarchal Agent Loop Optimizer), an open-source tool for debugging and optimizing AI agents using their execution traces. It’s a loop. Run your agent, feed the traces to HALO, get the report, apply the fixes, then re-run your agent. HALO takes in OTEL compliant traces from AI agents using tracing frameworks such as Langfuse, Arize/OpenInference, or even just plain JSONL. It uses an RLM (Recursive Language Model) to more efficiently break trace analysis into smaller subproblems in order to find recurring patterns across large amounts of data and fix systemic issues that…

I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.

Hey HN, Henry from Cactus here! We previously released Cactus Needle, a 14MB agentic LLM for tool call, device use, and structured extraction for phones, wearables, smart homes, small robots and microcontrollers. We got really great feedback here, and have now incorporated the suggestions to release Needle 2. The whole model is a single 14MB binary that runs a full session in 28MB of RAM; 45m parameters at 2bit compression. Needle hits 500 tokens/sec decode speed on a Raspberry Pi 5, sits between 400-1,500 tokens/sec on VR devices like Meta Quest 3S and Apple Vision Pro, and ranges…

- H6Homebrew 6.0.0▲1,481
Today, I’m proud to announce Homebrew 6.0.0. The most significant changes since 5.1.0 are a new tap trust security mechanism, the new faster, smaller, default internal Homebrew JSON API, sandboxing on Linux, better defaults informed by our user survey, many brew bundle improvements, improved performance and initial support for macOS 27 (Golden Gate). Happy to discuss any questions here!
