I built a navigation app that displays weather along the route
Hello HN, I live in northern part of USA where winters are snowy. Whenever I took long trips, I always wondered what the weather along the route is going to be. For those who live in northern USA, you know weather can change frequently, so when you're traveling matters a lot, not just the route. To solve this problem for myself, I built https://navimodo.com/. NaviModo calculates the route, and then checks weather along the route based on your start time, and displays weather along the route. Change start time, and the whole thing is recalculated. I am not expecting any…

In plain words
NaviModo is a navigation app that displays weather conditions along a planned route based on the user's start time. Designed for travelers in snowy regions where weather changes rapidly, it recalculates both the route and weather forecast when the departure time is adjusted. The app helps users see how conditions will vary across their journey, allowing them to time trips accordingly. Future features may include break recommendations and optimal departure time suggestions.

The map tool handles "where" best: https://championtraveler.com/travel-weather-map/ Clicking through each week would be frustrating for those who know where they want to travel but not when. For these people I built "best time to travel" pages using the same data. https://championtraveler.com/best-time-to-travel/ My hope is this site will help travelers plan. This data is taken…

With social media and now AI, its important to keep the indie web alive. There are many people who write frequently. Blogosphere tries to highlight them by fetching the recent posts from personal blogs across many categories. There are two versions: Minimal (HN-inspired, fast, static): https://text.blogosphere.app/ Non-minimal: https://blogosphere.app/ If you don't find your blog (or your favorite ones), please add them. I will review and approve it.
