I built a simple task capture inbox app
I've always been frustrated with the complexity of todo mobile apps. I use Todoist and Notion to manage my work, for instance, but every time I'm out and about and think of a task I need to capture, the mobile apps feel too complex. Or I might think of a feature to add to a product, but don't want to deal with Linear's mobile web view. So, I built Defer: a simple iOS "capture" app that syncs to your menu bar on your Mac. No signup needed, it all "just works" with your Apple ID. Intentionally simple and lightweight.
I built a simple task capture inbox app launched on May 13, 2024 with 5 votes, #1,921 of 4,539 launches that month and more than 50% of that year's launches. The site was still online in September 2026, 2 years on.

Process later: maybe some go to your personal tasks, some to whatever you use at work, the rest to a reading list. Use snooze dates to keep tasks out of sight until you need to see them.
