In plain words

Diceright is a web-based virtual tabletop for playing Dungeons and Dragons with friends remotely. Built with Ruby on Rails and featuring real-time synchronization of maps and tokens across all players, it uses HTML canvas and Fabric.js for interactive game boards. The platform is optimized for both desktop and mobile devices, allowing players to manage campaigns and characters through a browser without requiring additional software installations.

I optimized it all to work on mobile too. I built this as a side project for fun over of the past couple years. It took a lot longer than expected, but it was also a lot of fun. I did all the design / UX for it too which was a struggle at first but was a great learning experience. Let me know what you think and if you have any questions. Thanks!

  • Hi HN, I built Eigendrum, a web tool that solves the 2D wave equation for arbitrary shapes so you can hear what they sound like as drums. How it works: * Solves -∇²u = λu using finite element analysis (Kφ = λMφ) on a triangle mesh. * Validated to <0.1% error against closed-form solutions for circles (Bessel zeros) and rectangles. * Sound model factors in strike location, Rayleigh damping, and mallet width. * Includes Kac drums I & II to demonstrate identical sound spectra from different geometries. * No frameworks, build steps, or dependencies. Repo and tests:…
