I built an extension that blocks words associated with US Politics
I got sick of the constant bombardment of US Political discourse, especially as I am not American, so I built an extension that blocks the top 200 words associated. You can add you own words to the mini DB, and toggle on and off etc.
I built an extension that blocks words associated with US Politics launched on August 5, 2024 with 5 votes, #2,614 of 5,471 launches that month and more than 50% of that year's launches. The site was still online in September 2026, 2 years on.

I removed politics from Twitter with AI2024 · mindfw.com · ▲40I'm sure you all saw the debate a few days ago, alongside all the tech influencoors giving their mid-takes about politics. Doesn't it get tiring? That's why I built mindfirewall a chrome extension that uses AI to filter out tweets. You'll never have to see politics, war, or negativity on your timeline again. In the future you'll be shocked you even allowed this stuff into your brain in the first place. Let me know what you think below, does it feel too much like censorship? would you use this?

Filter out engagement bait and politics on your X/Twitter feed2025 · unbaited.danielpetho.com · ▲71hi friends! i'm pretty tired of engagement bait and all the political nonsense on my x/twitter feed. i was curious if i could use an llm to filter out these type of content, so i prototyped a quick chrome extension. it uses LLama 3.3 to analyze the tweet through https://groq.com/ (because they are super-super fast). the extension is available in the chrome store, also there is a link to the repo. - you can tweak the system prompt for the filtering - but you need your own API key from Groq (you can get one for free)

Hey there HN! We’re Joe and Stopa, and today we’re open sourcing InstantDB, a client-side database that makes it easy to build real-time and collaborative apps like Notion and Figma. Building modern apps these days involves a lot of schleps. For a basic CRUD app you need to spin up servers, wire up endpoints, integrate auth, add permissions, and then marshal data from the backend to the frontend and back again. If you want to deliver a buttery smooth user experience, you’ll need to add optimistic updates and rollbacks. We do these steps over and over for every feature we build, which can…
