In plain words

Stavros' Stuff documents a hardware hacking project that connects RGB LED light strips to video games. The creator purchased inexpensive LED strips from eBay and reverse-engineered them to build an API, enabling the lights to respond to gameplay. The project demonstrates practical electronics experimentation and software integration for hobbyists interested in home automation and hardware modification.

A while ago, two unrelated things happened: I got one of those cheap RGB LED strips from Ebay, and I became interested in hardware hacking. If you aren’t familiar with the LED strips, they’re basically a long string of LEDs connected to a controller that usually supports an infrared remote control, which can be used to set the color and intensity of the lights. When I started tinkering with hardware, I noticed a change: I started looking at common, everyday things around the house and thinking “I bet I could put a controller in that and write an API for it”. This led to a button that orders food when pressed , a rotary mobile phone , a wifi-enabled room fragrance…from stavros.io

Hey Hackers. This is a project I solo-developed that turns completed PCB assemblies into an easy to use boardview with some accompanying boardscans. There are lots of easier and better ways of doing this, but this is an experimentation to do it as cheaply as possible, with the highest quality and lowest chance of errors. The technical details are in the link. Most public boardviews are almost entirely the result of industrial espionage, other than a few encrypted subscription based software platforms that provide extensive access. The process output is released as donationware, as my main…
