I'm a CEO Coding with AI – Here's the Air Quality iOS App I Built
I’m the CEO of AirGradient, where we build open-source air-quality monitors. Two months ago I decided to build our first native iOS app myself. I’ve been coding on the side for ~15 years, but had never touched Swift or SwiftUI. Still, I went from empty repo to App Store approval in exactly 60 days, working on it only on the side. The app itself is a global PM2.5 map with detail views, charts, and integration with our open-source sensors -straightforward, but fully native with Swift and now live on both iOS and Android (native Kotlin version). The interesting part for me was actually not so…

In plain words
AirGradient's iOS app displays global PM2.5 air quality data on an interactive map with detailed views, charts, and integration with the company's open-source air quality sensors. Built for anyone monitoring air pollution levels, the app offers straightforward access to air quality information. It is available on both iOS and Android as a native application developed using Swift and Kotlin respectively.

Requirements: - You still need an Xcode on your machine, but don't need to open it. Website:…
- ALAir Lab – A portable and open air quality measuring device2025 · networkedartifacts.com · ▲497
Hi HN! I’ve been working on an air quality measuring device called Air Lab for the past three years. It measures CO2, temperature, relative humidity, air pollutants (VOC, NOx), and atmospheric pressure. You can log and analyze the data directly on the device — no smartphone or laptop needed. To better show what the device can do and how it feels like, I spent the past week developing a web-based simulator using Emscripten. It runs the stock firmware with most features available except for networking. Check it out and let me know what you think! The firmware will be open-source and available…
